On Thursday, 10 October 2013, Anne Cheng gave a talk at Stanford University entitled "Ornament and Law" sponsored by Asian American Studies, Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity, Division of Literatures, Cultures and Languages, English, and Department of Modern Thought and Literature. The talk drew people from on and off campus, including several Princeton alums.

Claudia L. Johnson, author of Jane Austen’s Cults and Cultures (University of Chicago Press, 2013) is the winner of the 2013 Christian Gauss Award for a distinguished work of literary scholarship and criticism.
The Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies opens its 2013–14 Director’s Book Forum series with a presentation by Eduardo Cadava, professor of English, and Gabriela Nouzeilles, professor and chair of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Cultures, on their book, The Itinerant Languages of Photography (2013), on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at noon
Princeton University and the Princeton English Department successfully completed another summer of the Bread Loaf School of English and Oxford University initiative.
Claudia L. Johnson, Murray Professor of English, was recently published in the August 28, 2013 edition of the Times Literary Supplement.
