Intersections is a working group committed to promoting the interdisciplinary study of race, gender, class and sexuality in literature and cultural studies.  With the aim of supporting graduate research and cultivating a dynamic scholarly community focused on interdisciplinary critical methodologies, intersectionality and critical race theory, Intersections aims to sponsor programs, workshops and campus events that will encourage dynamic, multidisciplinary conversations that cut across literary genres, historical periods, regions, and theoretical lines of inquiry. Intersections aims to provide a forum for English graduate students to engage with the works of scholars who use critical race theory as a methodological tool in relation to medieval literature, early modern literature, the long eighteenth century, Victorian literature, American literature, trans-Atlantic literatures, post-colonial literature and theory, British and American modernisms, contemporary literature, poetics, drama and performance studies, cinema, sonic studies and beyond.
