DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
SCOTT BERG FELLOWSHIP
SUMMER OF 2014
Mr. A. Scott Berg `71 h03 will again be sponsoring the A. Scott Berg Summer Fellowship for Summer 2014.
The scholarship provides a stipend of $3,500 and is designed to meet the living, travel, or research expenses of undergraduate English majors who wish to use the summer for writing or research in connection with their Princeton independent or course work.
Students may be nominated by their teachers or may simply apply; in either case, two letters of support from faculty members are required. Proposals should include a brief outline of the project and an estimate of expenses. Creative projects are particularly welcomed, "creative" means original, unconventional and imaginative. Projects, in other words, with a special spark. So don't be constrained by formal academic constraints when you submit a proposal, and likewise don't feel that you should or must propose a "Creative Writing" project. No form of writing or research is excluded.
Interesting, rigorous projects that show passion for an imaginative undertaking of any kind will receive favorable attention.
The deadline for applications and/or nominations is Wednesday, March 12, 2013.
