Robert Sandberg's play IRL: In Real Life is being toured throughout the 2012-2013 season by George Street Playhouse through a grant from the New Jersey State Bar Foundation. From shared text messages, exploited secret photos and threatening online conversations, cyber-bullying reaches every facet of the students' lives and leads to consequences everyone needs to face. This production investigates how students can take an active role to end cyber-bullying.
The English Dept is spearheading a new series of courses on Asian American literature and culture, including the inaugural course this Fall: Law, Bodies, and the Everyday, taught by Prof. Anne Cheng with Judge Denny Chin of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit as occasional co-instructor.
Anne Cheng’s Second Skin: Josephine Baker and the Modern Surface was awarded Honorable Mention for the Modernist Studies Association Book Prize for 2012.
