Amon Pierson (he/him/his) jointed the Department of English at Princeton in 2022. Prior to this, Amon received a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Emory University. As both a scholar and poet, Amon searches for the resonances between 20th and 21st century African American poetry and poetics, the Law and Political, and psychoanalytic theories of mastery, subjectivity, and discourse. Wanderer and explorer, Amon seeks to understand the expansive capacities of blackness to create a world otherwise.
