Sarah is the business and finance manager for the Department of English. She works closely with the department manager and staff to ensure the smooth running of all financial aspects of the department’s activities. Contact Sarah for assistance with:

Sarah is responsible for:
- Budgeting and management of departmental endowed funds
- Developing and managing the department’s annual and long-term financial plans
- Compliance with university financial policies
- Implementation of internal controls to safeguard the assets of the university
- Ensuring department expenses are necessary, reasonable, appropriate and allowable, and comply with donor restrictions
- Tracking all financial information and maintaining proper financial records
Sarah has worked in the English department for six years, and prior to that worked in the Center for Digital Humanities. She is a chartered accountant (CPA) with over 35 years’ experience, 24 of those in institutions of higher education. She has particular experience in audit, compliance and risk management, and is a specialist in communication with, and training and assisting, non-financially trained budget holders. As well as her accounting qualification, Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and a postgraduate diploma in Victorian literature. She is an avid reader and traveler, and loves the outdoors, especially camping and hiking. She is a ruling elder of her church at Dutch Neck (near Princeton), where she is a leader for mission, outreach and education, and sings in the choir.
