Tenisha McDonald joined the Department of English Literature at Princeton University in 2019. She earned her B.A. in English from Cornell University and her M.A. in English from Queens College CUNY. At Queens College, Tenisha produced a thesis on Mary Prince’s The History of Mary Prince: A West Indian Slave, where she examines how White abolitionist editors alter Prince’s Black narrative voice. Tenisha’s research interests include nineteenth-century transatlantic slave narratives, postcolonial literature, Black women writers, and Caribbean literature.
